Billy Joel’s Baseball Stadium Tour coming to Kauffman Stadium

Turns out that Kansas City Royals legendary 3rd baseman, George Brett’s career has many parallels to iconic musician Billy Joel. Brett’s rookie season was 1973, the same year Joel composed his first hit single “.Piano Man”. Brett was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999, the same year that the Bronx musician, who penned 33 Top 40 hits was inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. That’s the Rock-n-Roll equivalent to Brett’s 3,154 career hits. On Friday September 21st, Billy Joel will have something else in common with George Brett. They will both be able to say they played at Kauffman Stadium.

Today, the Kansas City Royals announced that Billy Joel will be bringing his Baseball Stadium tour to the K. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 26th at 10 am. It’s the first major concert at Kauffman since Van Halen headlined the Summer Jam Festival with Steve Miller, Eddie Money and Kansas. 39 years later, Billy Joel is ready to rock the K with some home run hits of his own. Listen all next week at 9am, Noon and 3 pm to win tickets as 94.9 KCMO presents Billy Joel at Kauffman Stadium.
