The national recognition keeps on piling up for Overland Park, Kansas. Add Niche.com as the latest to put Overland Park in a Top 10 list of cities. The website hails Overland Park as a “beautiful, friendly, safe suburb of Kansas City” and ranks the city 8th behind Plano, Texas and just ahead of Boulder, Colorado. The listing comes as no surprise to the 189,000 plus residents of Overland Park who have been down with “OP” for a long time. Great schools, pools, parks, affordable housing, and incredible farmer’s market and some of the best shopping outside of Kansas City metro make Overland Park a great place to live. And it seems like it’s 25 minutes from anywhere.
“There is something for everyone here, from very upscale neighborhoods, to quaint little spots to drop in for a new experience,” the website boasts. Props to Mayor Carl Gerlach, who keeps Overland Park humming like a top and will likely use this latest honor and Livability.com’s 100 Best Places to Live Ranking (rank #9) to boost his re-election bid as he seeks a fourth term this November.
