MIKE
1997… that’s the year Mike realized radio was part of his DNA hosting an all-request Night show! That was just the beginning! Mike’s been fortunate to spend time on the air here in KC, San Diego, and now back on 94.9 KCMO! When it comes to Kansas City, he’s a hometown guy, growing up in the Northland, and a proud graduate from the ‘original’ Liberty High School.
Mike’s lived all around our great city… Liberty, Prairie Village, Lenexa, Overland Park, and now back up north. Not only did he grow up here, but his entire family lives here, which makes holidays so much easier to navigate. After his years in San Diego, he’s so thankful my holidays aren’t spent in airports anymore.
Mike has always been a nerd for tech stuff, and enjoys being around people. Little known fact, he was the kid running the sound systems at church, so the thought of being on the radio was a dream come true. Mike is also a lover of all KC BBQ! Mike has an affinity for fast cars, boats, motorcycles and a huge fan of our Chiefs! Mike also volunteers regularly with our local Salvation Army’s Honk & Holler program where we help feed KC’s homeless community! When he’s not working, he enjoys grilling a good steak, smoking some ribs, checking out a new winery, or catching up with whatever he missed on Netflix. And don’t tell anyone… but he also likes to organize stuff and for whatever reason enjoys cleaning things.
MACKENZIE
A KC girl born and raised, Mackenzie got her first big break as a singing cocktail waitress and has gone on to a successful career, broadcasting around the globe and on 94.9 KCMO! Named Radio News Reporter of the year, Mackenzie loves working with kids and animals. When she’s not behind the microphone, you might find her volunteering at Great Plains SPCA or walking her foster poodle, Dieter. Mackenzie is married and hopes to launch her teenage sons into the world soon. She plans to turn their rooms into her own private Zen space.
